Owners

The owners whose homes you run: their invite link, what they can do in Hostomat, their own login, their site, and how working together ends.

Invite an owner

  1. 1Open Owners and press "Invite an owner". Type "Their name" and "Their email" and press "Send invite".
  2. 2They get an email from your account with their own link, which works for 30 days, for them alone. "Copy link" gives you the same link to send by message.
  3. 3From the link they create their login, connect their own Airbnb and tick the listings you run. Their listings arrive already theirs, and the chip on their row moves from "Invited" to "Opened the invite", "Importing" and "Live".

The link

Open an owner's row: while it reads "Invited", "Opened the invite" or "Importing", "Their invite link" offers "Make a link to copy", "Email a new link" and "Stop this link" ("Send a new link" once stopped). Each new link stops the one before, and can be copied only when it is made.

An owner who connected but has no login yet gets "Email first a login link" under "Their login".

A link works only for the owner's email. For an owner with no email yet, you type it first; it's saved, and the link, emailed or to copy, is made for it.

Once they have a login, "Their login" shows the email they sign in with. If it isn't theirs (someone else opened their link while signed in), an admin presses "Clear their login": that login stops opening their homes, their links stop working, and you send them a new one.

Admins invite owners, change their links and pick what they can do; a manager trying is told it's an admin's call.

Full access and Look only

  1. 1Open the owner's row and, under "What they can do", switch between "Full access" and "Look only". Full access is the default.
  2. 2Full access: "Everything on their own homes: the calendar, bookings and their money, guests' messages, the listing." Look only: "They see everything on their own homes and change nothing." Neither ever reaches your other owners, your team, billing or the account's settings.
  3. 3A Look only owner reads "You can look at your homes here, not change them." above every page, and any change they try on their homes is refused.

What an owner sees

An owner signs in to the same app, limited to their own homes: Home, Calendar, Messages, Bookings, Tasks, Listings, their Website once you made them one, their Statements, Analytics, Opportunities, Seroia, Settings and Help. On Full access they change prices, minimum stays and blocks, edit the listing, reply to guests, and list or unlist.

Switching dynamic pricing on stays an admin's (an owner can switch it off), and an owner brings in new homes only through your link. Notes for the team, and what Seroia remembers, stay the team's.

Stop working together

  1. 1Open the owner's row and press "Stop working together" under "What they can do" (admins only). An owner can do the same from their own Settings, under "Working together".
  2. 2The screen says first what happens, at once: their Airbnb and Booking.com accounts leave your Hostomat, their listings staying live on the channels as they are; their homes stop counting on your bill today; their guests' automatic messages and their homes' cleanings to come stop; the website you made them goes offline and their homes come off yours, with unpaid payment links withdrawn; their own Stripe is disconnected from Hostomat; you keep their stays, money and statements, and they keep their past statements.
  3. 3Press "Stop working together" to confirm, or "Keep working together".
  4. 4The team is told: "name stopped working with you" or "You stopped working with name", with the homes that left the bill.

Their site and their Stripe

On Website, "Site for an owner" makes a site with only that owner's homes. Guests' money goes to the owner's own Stripe, which the owner connects from their own Settings; until they do, the site takes requests only. Statements count a stay paid into the owner's Stripe as paid to them.

What Hostomat does by itself

  • An owner's row says what is wrong and what fixes it: "Their link ended before they used it. Send a new one.", "Their last try to connect failed: reason".
  • "What happened" on each owner keeps the history: invite sent, opened, login created, Airbnb connected, listings brought in.
  • Once you start automatic messages, each owner is asked in their login to switch off their channels' own scheduled messages; "Automatic messages" shows who has.

If it didn’t work

The owner says the link doesn't work.
It ended after 30 days, was stopped, or a newer one replaced it. Send a new one from their row.
The owner connected but their listings aren't in.
Their row reads "x of n listings in" while they come in. A stopped one says why there and on the unit's "Channels" tab, where an admin can "Retry the import".
I can't invite or change a link.
Only an admin can: "Only an admin of this account can invite owners or change their links." A read-only account can't either until an admin settles billing.
Stop working together is refused.
A home is still being connected, or a guest is paying for one of their homes right now. Try again in a few minutes.
