Integrations

Airbnb and Booking.com, connected inside Hostomat: your own accounts, your owners' accounts, each listing's import, and disconnecting a channel.

Connect an Airbnb account

  1. 1Press "Connect an Airbnb account" for your own Airbnb; owners connect theirs from their invite. Airbnb allows one channel manager per account.
  2. 2Press "Continue to Airbnb" and approve the connection on Airbnb's page. It names the channel manager Hostomat connects through; the panel's "Learn more" explains why. The link lives 2 hours.
  3. 3Tick the listings this account runs and press "Bring in n listings". The rest stay just as they are on Airbnb, and you can add them later.
  4. 4Each listing shows "Bringing it in, n%" through its details, photos, calendar, the connection and a check that Airbnb is unchanged, then "Live". Its bookings follow within minutes. You can close the page.

Connect a Booking.com property

  1. 1Press "Connect a property". A Booking.com property joins a unit already on Airbnb, so both share one calendar.
  2. 2Step 1: "Open Booking.com" goes straight to the extranet's Connectivity provider page with Hostomat's channel manager picked. On another channel manager today? Click "Switch providers" and leave the old one on: Booking.com keeps it running until the new one takes over.
  3. 3Step 2: click Next, tick the box and click "Yes, I accept". Step 3: copy the Property ID, the number at the top next to the property's name.
  4. 4Paste it into "Property ID" and press "Find the property". Booking.com shares neither the property's name nor its address, so pick the unit yourself under "Which unit is it?"; the guest count is checked ("Takes the same number of guests"). Press "Yes, connect it to unit".
  5. 5Its Booking.com bookings come in and their nights close, 5 to 10 minutes, then it switches on by itself. It shows as "Importing" or "Waiting for Booking.com" until it is live.

Who's connected

The table lists each owner and "Your own" with Airbnb and Booking.com side by side: "Live", "Importing", "Waiting for Booking.com", "Needs attention", "Invited" and "Opened the invite". "Needs someone" and "Not on Booking.com" filter it. Row buttons: "Open", "Show the fix", "Send link", "Resend invite", "Copy a new link", and "Connect" under Booking.com.

"Show the fix" on a Booking.com property switched off from its side says what to ask the owner, and "Check again" asks Booking.com whether it is back.

When a listing appears on a connected Airbnb account, say an owner lists a new home, admins see "n new on Airbnb" under that Airbnb with "Add", for two weeks. "Add" opens the account's listings to tick, without going through Airbnb again.

Disconnect, and connect again

  1. 1An admin opens the unit, then "Channels", and presses "Disconnect" on the channel once it is done importing. The dialog says what happens: the channel stops getting the unit's prices and open nights, new bookings made there stop coming in, and the bookings already here stay with their messages.
  2. 2Press "Disconnect channel". A Booking.com property can be connected again from Integrations: the unit and the Property ID are both free.
  3. 3To bring an Airbnb listing back after a disconnect, write to hello@hostomat.io.

What Hostomat does by itself

  • A listing whose import failed is never left half connected: its connection is undone and it offers "Try again".
  • Bookings, calendar, prices and guest messages stay in step from the moment a listing is live.
  • Booking.com gets the same nightly prices and minimum stays as Airbnb, plus the unit's Booking.com markup if one is set.
  • A Booking.com property switched off in the extranet shows "Needs attention" with the fix.
  • Once a day Hostomat looks at each connected Airbnb account for new listings. A new one is never brought in by itself: you're told once, in the app and by email or WhatsApp as you chose for "A channel or a booking needs fixing", and you add it if you run it.

If it didn’t work

A listing isn't in the Airbnb picker.
Airbnb only shows listed listings. Unlisted, snoozed and hidden ones don't appear, and a co-host can't connect a listing. List it on Airbnb, then reload the page.
"Airbnb isn't connected yet".
The page shows the reason. Airbnb allows one channel manager or property management system per account: disconnect the other one on Airbnb, then press "Try again". A page older than 2 hours has expired: start again.
Booking.com didn't let us in to that property.
Usually one of these: the Property ID is wrong; the provider isn't accepted yet in the extranet (Account, then Connectivity provider); the property is connected to another channel manager; or Booking.com is busy, so try again in a few minutes.
No unit can take the property.
Each unit is already on Booking.com, isn't live on Airbnb yet, or is priced in another currency. A property joins a unit already on Airbnb in the same currency.
An import is stuck.
A stopped listing shows its reason and "Try again"; the unit's page offers "Retry the import". While it imports, its calendar is locked.
I can't connect anything.
Only admins connect channels and invite owners. An unpaid account (trial over, or payment stopped) connects nothing until an admin pays, and a listing that had its free trial on another account needs a subscription first.

Still stuck? Write to hello@hostomat.io and a person answers.
