Every day
Bookings
Every stay from every channel in one searchable list, with the guest, the nights, the money once it is checked, the conversation and what happened.
Find a booking
- 1Type in "Guest, booking code or unit". It matches the guest's name, the booking code and the unit's names.
- 2Pick a tab: "Upcoming" (the default, requests and stays under way included), "Here now", "Requests", "Past" (checked out or cancelled) or "All".
- 3Narrow by channel ("Airbnb", "Booking.com", "Booked in Hostomat", "Your website") or by owner. "Show more" loads 100 more at a time.
A booking's page
The stage ("Arriving today", "Currently hosting", "Checked out"...), the guest, the party and the nights at the unit, the booking code, and "Open on Airbnb" for an Airbnb stay.
Check-in and checkout with their times, the money, the "Conversation" with a reply box, and "What happened": booked, changed, cancelled, who wrote, who replied, the cleaning given and done, with who did it.
At the side: the unit with "Open its calendar", the cleaning with its state and cleaner, the notes, and the cancel button where there is one.
Money "checked" and "being checked"
Money shows only once it matches the channel's own record: "What you keep", with its lines, Airbnb's host service fee or Booking.com's commission (estimated until Booking.com sends it) among them. A cancelled Booking.com stay shows "What the guest paid"; one paid on your website, "Paid by card through Stripe", Stripe's card fee and "What reaches you".
Until it matches, the page says "Money is being checked", the list "Being checked", and the money is counted nowhere: not on Home, not in Analytics, not on a statement. A booking made by hand with nothing typed reads "No money recorded".
Answer a request
- 1A request shows "guest asked to book" with the time left to answer, and the buttons "Decline" and "Accept".
- 2Accept it here. To decline, open the conversation, where Airbnb asks why.
Cancel a booking
- 1A booking made by hand: press "Cancel this booking", then "Cancel booking". Its nights open on every channel.
- 2Paid on your website: press "Cancel this booking", then "guest asked to cancel" (refunded by the site's rule) or "We have to cancel" (refunded in full). The button shows the refund; Stripe's fee doesn't come back.
- 3Made on Airbnb or Booking.com: Hostomat can't cancel or change it. Do it on the channel, through "Open on Airbnb" or Booking.com's extranet.
Notes
Booking.com's notes, the guest's own requests, show on the booking; Airbnb's aren't shown. A "Note for the team" in a conversation is the team's: an owner never reads it.
What Hostomat does by itself
- A booking lands the moment a channel makes it, and its nights close on the other channels.
- Every copy of a booking the channel sends is kept; each change shows in "What happened" as "Changed on channel".
- Once the money matches, the log adds "Payout checked against Airbnb's own record" or "Total checked against Booking.com's own record".
- A booking's cleaning moves with its dates and is cancelled with it.
If it didn’t work
- The money has said "Being checked" for days.
- Airbnb's record couldn't be read yet, or the figures don't add up: the alert "Money to check on booking code" says which. Each change the channel sends checks it again. If it stays, write to hello@hostomat.io with the code.
- There is no cancel button.
- Only bookings made by hand or paid on your website are cancelled here, and not on Look only. Channel bookings are cancelled on the channel.
- A guest shows as "Guest" with no money.
- A read-only person sees stays without the guest's name, contacts or money.
- It says "This booking isn't here".
- It may belong to another account (switch at the top of the sidebar), or the link is old. Press "All bookings" and search.
Still stuck? Write to hello@hostomat.io and a person answers.
