Billing
What each live unit costs, the 14 free days, what read-only means when nothing is paid, changing the card, and the dynamic pricing add-on.
What a unit costs
Each unit live on a channel pays its step a month, in the order it was connected: $19 for your first unit, then $17 each for your 2nd to 5th, $15 each for your 6th to 15th, $12 each for your 16th to 30th and $9 each from your 31st. A unit on Airbnb and Booking.com counts once. Units still importing or disconnected aren't billed, nor is one unlisted on Airbnb for 30 days that no other channel has live.
The website is part of it: no booking fee, and Hostomat takes nothing from a payment on it.
The free days
Your 14 free days start when you connect your first unit, and cover every unit you connect. No card is needed until then. Subscribing before they end takes 50% off your units for your first 3 months. Each Airbnb listing gets one free trial across all of Hostomat.
Subscribe, and change the card
- 1Open Billing (admins) and press "Subscribe for x today" or "Subscribe for x a month". The dialog shows what you pay today before "Continue to payment" opens Stripe's page.
- 2"Change card" and "Billing details" open Stripe's pages for the card, address, tax ID and invoices.
- 3"Cancel subscription", then "Yes, cancel my subscription", stops it when the paid month ends.
- 4Invoices sit at the bottom, "Paid" or "Didn't go through", with Stripe's copy.
Read-only when unpaid
When the free days end without a subscription, when a card fails after two weeks of retries, or when a subscription ends, Hostomat turns read-only: bookings and messages keep arriving, and changes wait. The banner above every page says why, with "Open billing" for admins.
Refused: calendar, listing and website changes, replies and notes, connecting, owner links and statements, audits and the assistant's approvals. Automatic messages, the assistant's answers to guests and dynamic pricing stop, and the website goes offline. Tasks, the team and Settings keep working, saved replies apart. Nothing disconnects on its own.
A failed payment first shows "Payment didn't go through" with "Pay x", as Stripe retries.
Dynamic pricing, the add-on
Prices from the market around each unit are a paid add-on, off until an admin switches "Dynamic pricing" on, on a unit's calendar or for many units under "Pricing settings". It costs $6 a unit a month, free for your first month on any number of units, never goes under the unit's floor and leaves prices set by hand alone.
What Hostomat does by itself
- A unit connected after subscribing joins the next bill; nothing is charged that day.
- You're told two days before the free days end, and a week before the 50% off ends.
- Only admins see Billing and pay.
If it didn’t work
- The banner says "Hostomat is read-only".
- An admin opens Billing and subscribes, or pays the open invoice. Changes work again the moment Stripe confirms.
- A listing is refused when connecting, for its free trial.
- It already had its 14 free days on another Hostomat account. Subscribe to connect it, or leave it out.
- I can't switch dynamic pricing on.
- Only an admin can, and the unit needs a floor (set on its listing page) and to be live on a channel.
