Where Hostomat can be better: what we do not do yet, in writing

The things Hostomat cannot do today, from the team that builds it. Not a roadmap with dates. A list, so you can decide with the whole picture.

The Hostomat team

Hostomat launched in 2026. A small team builds it, a handful of hosts run it, and we have been pricing real calendars since July. We think the mechanism is right, and we say so on every page of this site. This page is the other half: the things it cannot do today, written down by the people who know best. Some are decisions. Some are gaps. All of them are true on the date at the top of this post, and we will update the list as it changes.

What we do not do

  • Anything other than Airbnb. No Vrbo, no Booking.com, no direct-booking site. If you list on more than one channel, we are not your tool yet.
  • Any PMS other than Hospitable. You connect your Airbnb directly, or through Hospitable if you already use it. Guesty, Hostaway, Lodgify, OwnerRez and the rest do not connect today.
  • Anything but the nightly price. We write one thing to your calendar: the price of each night. Minimum stays, availability, check-in and check-out rules stay where you set them in Airbnb. PriceLabs, Beyond and Wheelhouse all write minimum stays. We do not.
  • Guest messaging. Nothing about guests, before or after a stay. This is a decision, not a gap: we wanted pricing to prove itself before we touched anything a guest can see. It will stay that way until it has.
  • Apply the audit's rewrites for you. The audit writes stronger copy for the weak parts of your listing. It cannot put that copy on Airbnb, because no API allows a third party to edit listing content. You copy and paste.
  • Read your reviews on a direct Airbnb link. If you connect Airbnb directly rather than through Hospitable, the audit cannot read your reviews yet, so that part of the score is missing. That is a permissions limit we have not solved.
  • A mobile app. The site works on a phone and the co-host works on WhatsApp, but there is no app. One is being built. We are not giving a date, because we have not earned the right to.
  • Many knobs. Three decisions: who sets the base price, how hard to push for rate against occupancy, and your floor. If you want to shape your own seasons, write orphan-day rules, or tune thirty settings, PriceLabs and Wheelhouse do that and we do not. We think three is right for a host with a few listings. We could be wrong for you.
  • Thick data everywhere. The engine prices against comparable listings near you. In a small market there may be only a few, and the engine has less to read. You can see exactly which listings it is reading on the market page, so if there are three, you will know, and you can exclude any that do not belong. We will not pretend a thin market is a thick one.
  • A track record. We have one team, a handful of hosts, and calendars priced since July 2026. We publish the mechanism rather than case studies, because one good booking is not a case study, and we would rather you judged the mechanism.

What that means for you

If you are on one channel, on Airbnb, with one to seven listings, and you want your nights priced against the street every six hours with a floor that holds, the list above probably does not touch you. If any line on it does, we would rather you knew now.

What we are determined to fix

In the order we expect to, without dates.

  • The app, so the morning brief and the booking moment reach you where you are.
  • Minimum stays, if the connection allows the write. We are finding out.
  • Reviews on direct Airbnb links.
  • Messaging for hosts on Hospitable, once pricing has earned it.
  • More of what a host with a few listings actually asks for, which we learn from the hosts we have. If you are one of them, or want to be, hello@hostomat.io reaches the people who build it.

The part we will not change

Three decisions. A floor in our own code. Every price explained. A flat $19 a listing. Those are not gaps. They are the product.
